This year, we are especially proud to support Petra Cares after seeing their work at the 2nd Annual Petra Cares Gala, a celebration of hope, empowerment, and second chances.
Standing with Petra Cares
Petra Cares is an organization that holds a special place in our hearts. Their mission is to train and equip young people—particularly those who have aged out of foster care—with the skills they need to succeed in the automotive industry. But they go even further than job training. Petra Cares provides a holistic approach that includes life-skills development, mentorship, and emotional support. For many of the young adults they serve, this program is not just a stepping stone—it’s a lifeline.
Every year, more than 20,000 young adults age out of the foster care system in the United States. Many of them face tremendous challenges, including homelessness, unemployment, and lack of access to education or reliable support networks. Without the safety net that many of us take for granted, these young people are left to navigate the world on their own. Petra Cares steps in at this critical juncture to offer hope, direction, and real-world opportunities.
Their innovative training programs are designed to meet the needs of both the participants and the modern workforce. By focusing on automotive technician training, Petra Cares is helping to fill a significant labor gap in the industry while simultaneously providing their students with marketable skills that lead to stable, long-term employment with a livable wage. It’s a model that benefits everyone involved—and one that we are proud to support.

We were thrilled to hear from keynote speaker, Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale as he spoke of the successes of youth in the Petra Cares program and the therapy of work.
